【Psychological Support Service for pet owner, their family and vet clinic】
Facing the death and illness of your beloved pets can be a tremendous source of stress for pet owners, as if we are losing a significant person. We deeply understand the emotional distress that pet owners might face during difficult decisions. Therefore, we hope to provide psychological service from our clinical psychologist and counselling psychologist to support your psychological needs.
We would provide the following services for pet owners: individual, family and group counseling service, while the service delivery mode would be by telephone/zoom/face-to-face. In addition, our counseling psychologist could provide counselling companion service by accompanying pet owners to attend significant events, for example vet visits, euthanasia session and funeral etc.
We, the Edge Development Centre, would like to support pet owners through your darkest times. If you need support from us, you are more than welcome to contact us via Facebook pm, telephone call/WhatsApp at 5539-6773, or email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We would contact you as soon as possible, to take care of your psychological needs.
The Edge Development Centre also provides tailor-made counseling skills training course for vet clinic and their staffs. By joining our training course, staffs could be able to show empathy in their practice, take care of the psychological needs of pet owners, and notice if pet owners are in need of psychological service. In addition, we provide workshops for staffs to teach them how to better cope with their own psychological needs and work stress. Also, counseling and treatment would be delivered to staffs if needed.
Last month, we already provided two sessions of counseling skills training course for Tai Wai Small Animal and Exotic Hospital.
We are currently seeking for collaboration opportunities with vet clinics, to better equip staff with skills to support the psychological needs of pet owners and their family. By doing so, we hope that we can raise awareness of the importance of pet owners’s mental health.
